Your support of STABLE STEADY STRONG helps provide safe, stable housing to everyone in our community.

At the Polk County Housing Trust Fund, we are the comprehensive planning, funding and advocacy nonprofit for affordable housing in Polk County, Iowa. But we don't accomplish our mission alone.

 

Each year, we rely on the community's support to help us fund housing services in Greater Des Moines though STABLE STEADY STRONG. When you contribute, you are

  • Investing in the stability of families

Your donation helps people and families find safe, affordable housing. This provides stability and security, so they can focus on their jobs, education and other goals.

  • Investing in a steady workforce

When people have a safe, affordable place to live, they are more likely to be able to hold down a job and contribute to the economy. This benefits everyone in the community.

  • Investing in strong and economically viable neighborhoods and communities

When people have a place to call home, they are more able to be engaged in the community and invested in its future. This helps create stronger, more vibrant neighborhoods and communities.

Real stories about the impact your gift makes

QD lost his job and was on the verge of eviction. He found help from the Hope for Stable Families program at HOME, Inc., which provided him with short-term rental assistance, case management services, and school supplies.

 

The rental assistance helped QD and his children remain in their apartment. The case management services helped him find more stable employment, learn to budget, and connect with outside agencies to further stabilize his family and living situation.

 

Now back on solid footing, QD plans to meet with a Homeownership Counselor to get on the path to securing safe, stable, and affordable housing.
