2022 Affordable Housing Week call for presentations

Annual week of housing events planned for April 4-8, 2022

2022 Affordable Housing Week call for presentations

The Polk County Housing Trust Fund looks forward to returning to our traditional schedule of events for Affordable Housing Week coming up April 4-8, 2022. As these events return in person, we want to give interested people an opportunity to submit presentation ideas for two of our signature annual events.

Please submit your idea before December 3 to ensure the committee will consider it for 2022.

ABOUT THE EVENTS

Landlord Forum

  • Tentative date: Monday, April 4, 2022
  • 8:30 to 11:00 am
  • Location to be announced

Landlord Forum is an annual gathering of landlords property management professionals serving market rate, Section 42, and tax credit properties in the community. Topics at Landlord Forum must focus on expanding housing access to people of low or moderate incomes, or with other barriers to housing. Attendees value the event as an opportunity for professional development and a chance to learn how others are approaching common issues.

Affordable Housing Week Symposium

  • Tentative date: Thursday, April 7, 2022
  • 8:30 until 11:00 am
  • Location to be announced

The Affordable Housing Week Symposium is an opportunity for affordable housing supporters from across the region to gather, recharge, and focus on what’s next, providing housing solutions for our neighbors in need. This year’s theme is Building on Opportunity.

The symposium is our annual opportunity to think big and share what’s next in our community’s effort to provide safe, stable, and affordable housing to all. With large investments in housing already arriving in Iowa as a result of federal pandemic relief, and the possibility of more on the way through future infrastructure legislation, we’ll focus on ways to innovate and respond to this unique opportunity to develop lasting housing solutions for our area.  We’ll also consider how to build support for housing locally in communities across the region. Symposium presentations should focus on newsworthy topics in housing that will be accessible to a broad audience of interested community members.
